Straight-ahead rock that’s heavily influenced from grunge and 90′s rock (think L7 vs Silverchair) with a vast spectrum of musical influences brought in to perfect the mix- hints of electronica, metal and punk based on a melodic rock foundation.
At the centre of all is her secret weapon: the voice. A powerhouse instrument with a fury and intensity that feels like equal parts Kim Deal and Kathleen Hanna, the anger, expression and emotion she brings to her music with it sets her head and shoulders above the countless other rock bands trying for the same sound.
Her songwriting is raw and honest, and Calise’s way with words and lyrical talent shines in every song.
With two records under her belt (2007`s Morning Pill and 2010`s In Avanti), Calise’s accomplishments are racking up, with appearances in Guitar World, Guitar Player and Blender magazines, not to mention heavy rotation on MTV/VH1 and national radio, just for starters.
This has all been accomplished as an independent artist, which shows an incredible amount of dedication and hard work, not to mention raw talent.
